International Motorcycle Show 2011

Star VMax Motorcycle The International Motorcycle Show is kicking off another season. If you are into motorcycles, this is a must see event.  It will give you an opportunity to get up close and personal with the latest sport bikes, street bikes, dirt bikes, cruisers, scooters, ATVs and UTVs. All of the major motorcycle vendors will be there, along with many other parts and accessories vendors. The only down side for me is I usually decide I want to buy another motorcycle.

They also have a variety of side activities. Several vendors, such as Can-Am Spyder Roadster, Harley-Davidson,  Kawasaki, Star and Yamaha will be there allowing you to do demo rides. Which vendors depends on the city, so check with the International Motorcycle Show Web Site to see if your vendor is offering demo rides.

Other features include a custom bike show. This is a competition open to professional and amateur custom builders of choppers, cruisers and sport bikes.  Have something you built that is world class, enter it into the competition and see how you stand against other bike builders.

The Team No Limit Stunt Show is there again this year. Last year Tony Carbajal stopped at the fence in front of my daughter. He looked right at her, as he did a standing burnout. I’m not sure if she was more excited by the burn out, or by Tony picking her out of the crowd. This year Jason Britton and his television co-star, Eric Hoenshell,  will be at the show. They are two of the world’s best stunt riders, so don’t miss it.

The show will be touring across 12 cities throughout the US. The tour schedule is:

  • Dallas, TX, November 12-14, 2010
  • San Mateo, CA, November 19-21, 2010
  • Seattle, WA, December 10-12, 2010
  • Long Beach, CA, December 17-19, 2010
  • Novi, MI, January 7-9, 2011
  • Washington, DC, January 14-16, 2011
  • New York, NY, January 21-23, 2011
  • Cleveland, OH, January 28-30, 2011

  • Chicago, IL, February 11-13, 2011
  • Greensville, SC, February 25-27, 2011

I’ll be at the San Mateo show next weekend. I’m looking forward to seeing the new Ducati Diavel. It looks amazing. Check back after the show. I’ll fill you in on some of the highlights.
